Julia Bryant was born in Portsmouth and lives there still with her ex-submariner husband. She has three children. Her first career was in nursing and when her children were grown up she earned an honours degree in History and English.
In her writing Julia celebrates her city’s maritime past. She is particularly interested in the women who had to show courage, humour and resourcefulness in: “Living their lives between the tides of men at home and men at sea.”
Julia’s first novel Waiting for the Tide was published in 1999. Her fifth novel The Spirit of Nelson Street is now out in paperback. The latest book, “The Water is Wide” was published in March 2005. Keep coming back here for updates.
